Jennifer’s Note
As most of you are aware, I am expecting my second baby this summer.  When most folks are gearing up for a super busy travel agenda, my house will be getting renovated and readied for a new little bundle of joy!  My whole family is excited about baby Caleb’s arrival, and  I can’t wait to introduce him to his Yoga Family here at Yoga East.  We are both doing really well, but I am making the conscious effort to back off my current teaching load (upwards of 7 + classes a week usually!) to allow for some fresh new faces to join the studio.

In case you haven’t seen the schedule, just this last month, we added Kathryn Baker to Tuesday and Thursday 11:30-12:30 All Levels Flow Class.   Mandie Muscato started a Gentle Yoga Class on Monday mornings at 10am.  Tom Southerland is now teaching Gentle Yoga on Friday evenings at 5:15.  When you see these new folks on the schedule, don’t be shy, come in, say hi; you may find a new life-long friend and teacher.
I am so pleased and proud to announce the next two teachers to the schedule starting the week of March 6th.  Christine Nguyen will take over Tuesday mornings at 8:30 (All Levels Flow) and Amy Plahtinsky will take over the Thursday night 6:30 Power class.  These two fabulous women are up and coming graduates from our very first Teacher Training Semester and I couldn’t be more proud of their growth and their desire to teach and share the passion of yoga they’ve found.
It is very hard to step back-at least for me- but I know that the folks that have recently joined our teaching ranks are going to shine.  I want each of you to love all of our new teachers every bit as much as I do, and I can’t wait to practice beside you under their leadership!  Don’t worry, I won’t be away from the studio, in fact you may see me even more–doing things like signing folks in, assisting in classes, and managing the behind the scenes stuff that tends to be neglected when “life” is too busy.  I can’t wait to watch us all practice and grow together.
New This Month!

Aerial Conditioning
Starting March 19th 7:30-8:30
You spoke and we listened!  Many of you have tried Aerial Yoga with the two most common remarks afterwards being that ‘its much harder than I thought’ and ‘the swings are more uncomfortable than I expected’.  Well, no more hanging uncomfortably in your armpits and inner thighs.
The aerial swings can provide a good way to develop strength in the upper body and core, as well as improve balance and body awareness like traditional vinyasa yoga.  In this class, we’ll do a warm up and stretch (sweet!) , then move on to circuit style workout (burn!) on the swings, handles and floor. There will be a segment at the end to work on a variety of the challenging moves that are all optional (in case going upside down wasn’t your thing after all) and dependent on individual ability (the more you come, the better you will get!). The cool music will get even cooler. Some things don’t need fixing!

Community Acupuncture and Cupping
Starting March 19th from 11:30- 1:30
Traditional Chinese Medicine

Appointments can be made every 15 minutes via our Mindbody page.  However, walk-ins are always welcome.
Community acupuncture is a type of practice that allows you to heal with your peers. You, along with other individuals, will be receiving treatment together in the same room.  The cost for acupuncture is $35
Fire cupping increases circulation, breaks up scar tissue, adhesions, and stops pain. It can also help with digestion and congestion in the lungs, and can be used independently or in conjunction to acupuncture.  Fire cupping is $15.
