A Note from Jennifer


Don’t you just LOVE fall?  Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy summer, and spring (I could do without a winter–maybe it has something to do with the 8 winters I spent up in the suburbs of Philly?)  However, there is just something about the coolness that comes with fall.  The air is Crisp, the humidity low(er), and the kids going back to school-Fall is the PERFECT time to remember & celebrate how we have the opportunity to start fresh.Likewise, having a new infant at home, and a small toddler forces me to slow down (in some ways, I mean, there is only so much one can do when you are a human “milking machine,”) and just appreciate how new each day is.  Each morning is a reset-regardless how the previous day ended, each day has the opportunity to be better than the last, the new day offers the opportunity to explore new paths, or even learn something new.

That’s the theme for this month–starting Fresh.

Maybe a Resolution has slipped?  Or, maybe you had a crazy summer?  Maybe life has just been overwhelming and just managing to get through the day was a small miracle.  That’s o.k.  We have the opportunity to start fresh, with this new day and this new season.

At Yoga East, we have been very excited about the growth and opportunities that have come to us over the past year.  It’s been a blast watching the studio continue to thrive.  We have been growing and evolving slowly over the course of the last year with one idea in mind; Yoga East aspires to provide the absolute best experience possible for our Studio Family.  This means we have to focus on what we do right, and perfect it, while cautiously stepping out into uncharted territory in an effort to keep things fresh.

That’s why, as you know, we have incrementally been changing the look, some of the studio policies, and even the schedule around the studio.  We want to keep up with what our community wants, while staying true to our first focus; providing the highest quality yoga experience for all of you.

In honor of the Fall Fresh Start, I wanted to be sure to remind everyone to keep an eye on our schedule.  With the new season, we will be implementing a few new changes to the schedule, including adding me back into the line of teachers!  (yippie, I have MISSED you ALL!)  We hope that these changes will facilitate a better schedule for you, with more classes you’ll enjoy and times that are convenient for you.  We will continue to offer regular special events and trainings (and are open to more suggestions!) and it is the goal to continue bringing in top notch, world-renowned teachers to our space to give us the best education possible.

In addition, starting in September, you will notice changes in our memberships and packages.  Please, if you have any questions, just ask!    Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.  I want to be available to my entire Yoga East family.

I am so excited to be back in the studio with you all, practicing and teaching.  The warmth and support that my family and I have received from everyone in the Yoga East Family has meant the world, and we love and appreciate you all!

Join us in These Fun Activities

Yoga for Back Care
Whether you experience occasional or chronic back pain, this two hour workshop will teach you how to stretch and strengthen safely to support your back.
Yoga is designed to integrate and benefit the whole body, including lengthening the connective tissues, decompressing the spine, as well as strengthening the core and back muscles.  In this workshop, you will learn yoga poses that will help you develop a healthy and stronger back.   You will end the workshop by melting into a gentle, relaxing yoga pose with Essential Oils.  The price of the class is $25.

End of Summer Music Series

Join us for the last of our fabulous special Summer Music Series led by our very own Mandie Muscato; Big Hair Yoga!  This Gentle Flow Class will be held September 9th from 12:30 – 1:30.  You’ll get to practice along to the best of the BIG HAIR BANDS with your studio buddies in-promising to get you smiling, fit and relaxed.

 
Restorative and Acupuncture

Come on back for your favorite evening of health and wellness.  Join us on September 22nd at 6:30 pm for a wonderful evening combining the healing arts of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Restorative Yoga.  You will spend an hour in a blissful Restorative Yoga Class promptly followed by a wonderful acupuncture treatment in a community environment.  After the class and treatment, please stay for included Fire Cupping and Gu Sha (different TCM modalities that help to decrease pain, increase circulation, and improve overall health.) The cost of the event is $30 plus the cost of a class.

Didn’t get into one of the 3 classes at Southern Bend Yoga Festival? Never fear!!  You can still join Rebecca for her special monthly aerial yoga class.  You’ll spend the evening exploring yoga without all the hassles of gravity!  Regular class fees apply.  Beginners are welcome / no experience necessary.

Home Bound Books Donation Drive
Help Collect Children’s Books 

Did you know that children in Public Schools can no longer check out books to take home?  Well, Yoga East believes that our children should read and be able to enjoy books all year long at home, which is why we have decided to partner with a local group, Home Bound Books.

The goal of Home Bound Books is to provide Elementary aged children the opportunity to have books to read in their own home.  We need you to help us!  Do you have any children’s books in good condition that your children have perhaps outgrown?  Do you have some boxes up in the attic that maybe you’ve been trying to figure out what to do with?  Well, bring them to your favorite Yoga Studio in town, and we’ll make sure our local children have the opportunity to read the books you no longer need by giving them right over to Home Bound Books.  More Details coming soon to the studio.

We continue to partner with Jamie Jackson and the Mi Lu Center to provide our studio members the opportunity to experience wellness the Traditional Chinese Medicine way with weekly Community Acupuncture and Fire Cupping Sessions.  This wellness program has been around for centuries but is new to our studio and is definitely growing.
The community treatments are a more economical means to incorporate TCM into your lifestyle as you heal with a group of your peers.  We invite you to reserve your spot today, or just drop in.  TCM can help with a variety of ailments from pain to infertility, to insomnia.  If , on the day of your treatment, you are running late or need to cancel last minute, please call Jamie directly at 303-328-5869.
