August Newsletter

Saturday, July 29th, the studio welcomed it’s youngest new member, my son, Caleb, to the world.  We are both doing well, adjusting to the new “norm,” and we’d definitely appreciate your thoughts and prayers.  Big Sister and Daddy have been champs too!

The last few weeks of pregnancy (and, let’s be honest, child birth) were a true test of my strength and perseverance, but like anything worth doing right, the waiting time is the part that gives us time to build the Best. As a studio, we have been experiencing a wonderful re-genesis.  A rejuvenation that, I hope, has captured the heart and soul of Yoga East and expanded upon it to include the community and sense of family that we  enjoy today.   I am wrapping up my first year at the helm of this beautiful community and, I have loved watching and waiting for the vision I have for this community we share to truly take root and bloom.

Yoga East, at its core, is supportive, friendly, encouraging, and the best sort of family; one where we choose to be together.  I love the choice you each make in partnering with me and Yoga East and I hope you continue to make that choice well into the future.

Just like any new adventure, we have had plenty of excitement!  We have steadily dabbled in fresh, creative and fun ways for you to experience your  favorite practices.   We have begun  partnerships with local businesses and charities. And most important, we continually work to be the premier yoga studio that you deserve with the highest quality yoga instruction.  We do this by including an amazing assortment of passionate and gifted teachers, by refining and improving the variety of classes we regularly offer, and by consistently providing wonderful opportunities to deepen your personal practice.

This is just the beginning.  Just like waiting for the perfect baby, or waiting for our bodies to catch up with our minds in a particular yoga pose, we are building.  We are building momentum and speed and it’s so exciting to watch and wait.  Rest assured, we are no where near top speed, and we are no where near  our final destination.

As a community, I am sure you each have visions or ideas on what you want your studio to be.  Please, LET US KNOW!   Every single teacher is applying their passion to creative classes and workshop ideas.  I am actively dreaming up new and fun ways for us  to strengthen our minds and bodies.  It may take some time, but we make things happen.

Whether it is Yoga East very own Yoga School, or Pampered Restorative Escape, the ideas that start out as fun conversations soon become integral parts of what makes our studio special.  You are an integral part.  As you come into the studio for the 1st time or the 500th time, please let us know how we can improve your experience or let us know if there is something you’ve been dying to try.  I promise, we will support you and if it is within our power,we will help facilitate the idea into a full fledged event to remember.

Keep an eye on our social media, our schedule and this newsletter for updates on new events and classes.  Just like our school was new last year, this year we will be hosting our very first training from an out of town world-renowned children’s Yoga Trainer, Shana Meyerson.  (Have you signed up for the Mini Yogis Training yet?)  I promise, this is just the beginning.  Just wait until you see what all we have up our sleeves.

With excited anticipation,

Community Giving Opportunity

Home Bound Books Donation Drive
Help Collect Children’s Books

Did you know that children in Public Schools can no longer check out books to take home?  Well, Yoga East believes that our children should read and be able to enjoy books all year long at home, which is why we have decided to partner with a local group, Home Bound Books.

The goal of Home Bound Books is to provide Elementary aged children the opportunity to have books to read in their own home.  We need you to help us!  Do you have any children’s books in good condition that your children have perhaps outgrown?  Do you have some boxes up in the attic that maybe you’ve been trying to figure out what to do with?  Well, bring them to your favorite Yoga Studio in town, and we’ll make sure our local children have the opportunity to read the books you no longer need by giving them right over to Home Bound Books.  More Details coming soon to the studio.
