Ashtanga Yoga literally means eight limb union. The eight limbs of yoga -Yama (ethical disciplines), Niyama (self observation), Asana (posture), Pranayama (breath control), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (a state of joy and bliss) -are nourished through regular practice. Ashtanga yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures- which aligns the body, lengthens and strengthens the spine, and detoxifies the muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. The postures can be challenging but the breath will guide you. The room is heated 85-90 degrees. Sign up here.
