Yoga means Union. We believe that although we are first and foremost a premiere, high quality Yoga Studio serving the Yoga Community of East Brainerd with the best Yoga Classes, that we are UNITED with our community. We want to spread the since of Unity within this community by participating in events bigger than just our studio. Therefore, starting in 2017, Yoga East would like to celebrate our community and partner with area non-profits to help make a difference, to promote positive change, and to make the world a better place, right here at home. We will do that by hosting monthly “Donation Based” yoga classes taught by senior teachers as well as our graduating Teacher Trainees. These classes will be held on Friday night at 6:30 and are completely donation based–100% of the proceeds will be saved throughout the quarter and then be directly given to the sponsored non-profit of the quarter.
The Spring Partnership is with The Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center. We will help to raise funds and awareness for this beautiful conservation non-profit right here at the foot of Lookout Mountain. At the end of the quarter, we will celebrate the Season and the Center with a guided practice AT the Nature Center.
For our very first partnership, we brought in The Tennessee Humane Animal League’s Pet Placement Center a.k.a. Pet Placement Center. We accepted donations of items for which the Pet Placement Center has highlighted as a need for the first quarter of 2017 and donated ALL proceeds from our monthly events. Finally, on April 22nd, and associated with our 7th Birthday party, we will host a SPECIAL Donation Friday class, “Kitten Yoga!” The Pet Placement Center will bring several kittens to the studio (all available for adoption!) and we will have a playful, fun, relaxed evening of yoga and kitten cuddles!
