I am so excited to give you our wonderful updates. I have become so close to many of you over the years. Those of you that know me well are aware that I have a full-time job, a teenager, plus the classes that I teach and the studio. My full-time job has become increasingly more demanding and I have not given the studio as much attention as I would like to. The love is there but the time is not. Blessings often come to us when we need them the most.
I am so excited to announce that I am still a joyful, energized and slightly crazy instructor at this wonderful studio but I have had the pleasure of meeting an amazing instructor who has become a good friend. She is profoundly passionate about yoga. Jennifer Dixon is taking on the role of studio owner here at Yoga East effective immediately. She has so many wonderful ideas to make our sweet studio even better. I can’t wait to see where we go next!!
All my love and very best wishes,
Here is our beautiful Yoga East torch and I pass this onto Jennifer. Read her story below…
Like Becky said, my name is Jennifer Dixon. God’s blessed me with a marvelous, patient, and loving husband of 5 years, Judson, and a ridiculously wonderful little girl, Adalia (who just turned one 6/25!) Although I’ve spent the last 8 plus years in the Suburbs of Philadelphia, I grew up in the Chattanooga area. I graduated from Red Bank High School (Go Lions!) and then UTC with my degree in Finance and Economics, and a little later, an MBA. I used those degrees in the Energy Industry as a Power Trader and Developer from the time I was 19 until late 2015. I wanted to leave the (what felt like) gagillion hour work week before my baby was born, and miraculously was given that opportunity here at Yoga East!
My husband introduced me to yoga 6+ years ago, and I was hooked from my first Hot Power Class. I immediately became obsessed and went for my teacher certificate. I received my 200 and 500 hour certification from Bill Raup of Power Yoga Works, a Baron Baptiste studio. I went on to train with Donna Feiner and her teacher, Manju Jois for the last 2.5 years in Ashtanga yoga. I absolutely LOVE yoga. It is my passion. Yoga marries the hard with the soft in me, that ultimately makes me a better person. Yoga is not something I will ever master, but I LOVE trying.
Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome from the very first time I practiced Barkan with Becky! This space that you all created has become a second home in such a short time, I can’t wait to see how we grow and create memories in the years to come.
